Good Courage is a 92-acre farm, 65 acres of which are permanently protected wetland. Jennifer and Kerri purchased the farm in Spring 2019. The farm (formerly known as York Farm) has been under USDA-certified organic fruit production since 2016, under the stewardship of Andy Cotter and Irene Genelin. We’re certified with a number of regional agencies that promote sustainable agricultural practices, including Midwest Organic Services Association (our USDA accreditor), the Xerces Society (a group that advocates for pollinators), and the State of Minnesota’s Water Quality Certified Farm program.
The barn dates from 1926 and has many features that make it a wonderful venue for concerts, gatherings and weddings. Beginning in 2020, we’ll rent the barn out for private and public events. In 2020, we’ll also rent out our charming WellHouse on AirBnb. (Currently, the WellHouse accommodates our amazing seasonal staff member.)
The farm is powered by renewable energy. A wind turbine provides electricity and the farmhouse is heated by a geothermal system.
