Workstays on the Farm

Come immerse yourself in the the agrarian rhythms of work, rest, and prayer.

Waking up on a farm is an experience all its own. If you'd like to spend extended time at Good Courage, we'd love to welcome you for workstay (from two nights to two weeks) between May-September. Workstay guests are accommodated in our comfortable Well House (sleeps 2) or in our vintage camper (sleeps 1) and also have use of our bath house and our summer kitchen.

Workstays offer guests an opportunity to join farm staff and other volunteers in fieldwork and in prayer.  Accommodations are provided in exchange for 4 hours of labor per overnight, per person. There are all types of useful work to do on the farm, though the most common needs are weeding, mulching, and harvesting. If fieldwork isn't a good fit for your body, no worries - we also have endless organizing tasks and non-strenuous work like packing eggs, freezing fruit, or stuffing envelopes.
Morning prayer happens at 10:00 a.m. each day; all are welcome.

The farm cannot accommodate visiting pets.
Please note that the Well House has electricity and running water, but is not air conditioned or heated. Our rustic bath house has a composting toilet and running water (including limited hot water) for washing and showering.  Meals are self catered, though there are often gatherings on the farm where the community shares food. The summer kitchen is well appointed , stocked with basic cooking staples and fresh produce from the farm.
